This position is part of the Dutch Groeien met Groen Staal initiative. The initiative aims at increasing the use of green steel in the Netherlands. To this end we work on the development of a chemistry dependant constitutive model for crystal plasticity simulations of TRIP steel and implement it in the Düsseldorf Advanced Material Simulation Kit (DAMASK, ) developed at MPI-SusMat. The project is run in collaboration with various academic and industrial partners mostly from the Netherlands. The remaining project duration is about 4 years.
We offer a salary according to the German salary scale for the public sector (TVöD E13S3). Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
Candidates should hold a PhD in engineering or physics with a focus on materials science, mechanical engineering, or numerical modelling and have practical experience in programming (ideally with Fortran and Python).
